Beautiful Black and White Wedding in Toledo, Ohio

Stunning head table for bride and groom at Heban’s Field of Dreams in Toledo Ohio

How does time pass so quickly? When I started this blog, I knew that each week I wanted to capture not only my couples story of their wedding day but also throw in those unique details that make each couple so special to us. And here I am a month later getting this one out. It’s a good thing I’ve got a great memory, but its not too hard when you have incredible couples like ours.

Sydney + Robby were sweet (and middle school sweethearts!) from the start! We met at a Bridal Show in August 2023 and they booked us with just under a year to plan. We talked about visions for the day over our several meetings and texts and I knew that they both had a clear idea for what they wanted but also that the guidance that coordination and planning involves would help them tremendously. Over the course of the year not only did we plan this beautiful event together, but I also got to know them and the incredible things they were doing behind the scenes together. They were renovating a house! How cool is that?! We joked that they were crazy to do both, but honestly? They both made it look super easy. The love and respect they have for the other is evident and that was a beautiful thing to witness.

August 17th came and we battled the notion of rain all day. I felt like a weatherman that day as I patiently (am I patient?) watched the radar. Sydney and I chatted about an indoor ceremony but ultimately decided that we were going to risk it because the rain looked like it would stay away long enough for their ceremony. And it did. Barely 😅 I got Sydney down the aisle and my mom, Chris, who was the officiant that day, no sooner pronounced them man and wife and a wall of rain approached from the west. I keep an eye on things during the ceremony so I can tell the bartenders when to be ready for the rush but with the rain potentially coming, I certainly was a bit more watchful. I peeked outside again and saw it was over, hopped in the Gator because I had to pick up a grandma, and I kid you not…it was like the rushing of the bulls. Guests were running and laughing and smiling as they tried to outrun the rain behind them. It was truly a sight and I wish I had the ability to capture that for you. I sped off and picked up sweet grandma and brought her to dry ground. The couple and their wedding party managed to get to the grooms cabin before the skies opened up. What could’ve upset many only made Sydney + Robby and their friends and family laugh and smile. After all, they were married! Time to celebrate, no matter what the skies said. Ultimately, the night was an absolute blast, guests enjoyed the delicious food, wonderful drinks and incredible dance floor. And you know what? That sunshine came to stay for the rest of the night turning up the magic for Golden Hour. I think God is kind of funny like that.

Cheers to the new Mr. + Mrs. Arredondo!
